Meet Odin the Pitbull
Odin the pitbull is my absolute best friend — my constant companion and ride-or-die. When he suddenly became lethargic, stopped eating, and started losing weight, I was terrified. I suspected he’d swallowed something he shouldn’t have, but I didn’t have the resources for the veterinary care he desperately needed. I called everywhere I could think of, but it seemed like there were no options left. My best friend’s life was hanging in the balance, and I felt completely helpless.
Then we found a lifeline: Rainier Animal Fund. They quickly connected us with the wonderful team at Bothell Pet Hospital and even arranged a shuttle to transport Odin from downtown Seattle to Bothell, where he went into emergency surgery. Odin had a foreign object lodged in his intestinal tract and was in urgent condition. The doctors and staff put all their energy and knowledge into helping Odin, and, after 8 hours of surgery, he was in recovery. For the week following, Odin needed a full week of care. Bothell Pet Hospital and Diamond Veterinary Hospital joined forces to help save Odin and manage his recovery care.
That time apart was so hard, but finally, the day came when I could hold Odin again. I was overcome with tears of relief and gratitude. Thanks to Rainier Animal Fund, the veterinary teams, and everyone who supports this organization, Odin was given a second chance at life. I am forever grateful for the compassion and teamwork that kept my best friend by my side.
