Meet Puddin, the cat
When my cat Puddin escaped and returned home with a serious, open laceration across his chest, I was at a complete loss. I wasn’t sure how it happened, but I knew he needed help immediately. With my limited means, I spent days trying to find care I could afford, and I started to feel hopeless. Luckily, I found the Rainier Animal Fund, and they got Puddin on the waitlist for their next clinic.
Even with the terrible ice and snow, I made sure we got there. The injury was worse than I thought, and the team couldn’t close the wound right away. They told me Puddin would need daily bandage changes with a vet, and again, I felt that sense of dread, not knowing how I could make that happen. But I didn’t know about the incredible community standing with the Rainier Animal Fund.
Volunteers and partners from all over came together to create a plan. Seattle Humane and an anonymous donor helped cover the costs for his wound repair surgery at Rainier Veterinary Hospital, and The Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County helped with his follow-up care. Because of this amazing teamwork, Puddin got all the care he needed to recover. He’s now back to his feisty self, and I’m so grateful to every single person who helped save my boy.
