A tiny kitten whose fierce heart gave him the strength to carryon; for himself and the owner who loves him.
Bagheera, a rambunctious 14-week-old kitten, had his world turned upside down when an accident left him with two broken back legs and an injured paw. Upon discovering her injured kitten, Bagheera’s owner quickly rushed him to the hospital. Unfortunately, she soon realized she did not have the resources needed to get Bagheera the advanced surgical care he would need to fully recover. Her only option was to manage his extreme pain, restrict his movements and try to find the resources to get him care.
It became clear early on that Bagheera was quite the fierce little survivor. He adapted quickly to his limited movements and pain regiment while remaining the happy, purring little kitten who originally stole his mom’s heart. He continued to play with his toys and tried to interact with the other household pets even though he was not able to move around. He was just biding his time until he could get more help.
After reviewing Bagheera’s case, Rainier Animal Fund reached out to our friends at Rainier Veterinary Hospital to see what could be possible for this little kitten’s care. It was determined Bagheera would need two surgeries to reset his legs and get him on the path to recovery.
The Rainier Animal Fund stepped in to assist with the first surgery, but our funds are quite limited at this time due to the extreme need in the community. But, we remain committed to getting Bagheera and other pets like him back on their feet. That is where you come in.
