RAF Hosts Inaugural In-Service Clinic

The Rainier Animal Fund (RAF) hosted its inaugural “In-Service” clinic for qualifying, low-income pet owner families on Tuesday, May 26th at Beach Veterinary Hospital. Thanks to Dr. Debra Nicholson, our amazing veterinary nurses, and volunteers, the day was a huge success with 20 pets receiving much-needed veterinary care.RAF In-Service May Clinic

As part of the clinic, the Rainier Animal Fund was able to provide essential services that included advanced dental care for a handful of dogs, spay and neuter services for both dogs and cats, a mass removal on a beloved older dog and essential bloodwork profiles on several senior pets while also setting up many more for future surgical services with bloodwork and X-rays. More than anything else, our clinic participants were able to be seen and cared for by our medical team, get their questions answered and have the peace of mind in knowing that their pets are on the path to better health.

“During these difficult times, there are so many families in need in this region,” said Rainier Animal Fund Executive Director Dr. Debra Nicholson. “We are committed to being a part of the larger solution and helping provide a resource to pet owners while also supporting the community we call home.”

Continued Dr. Nicholson, “At RAF, we are just getting started, but our ultimate goal is to help ensure access to veterinary care for all in Western Washington.”

The Rainier Animal Fund In-Service clinics are intended to provide a resource for those pets who are in need of advanced veterinary care that their family cannot fully afford. Future In-Service clinics are set for Tuesday, June 30th and Tuesday, July 28th. Participating pet patients will have access to needed veterinary care including medical procedures, spay/neuters, dental care and select surgical services.
